Festival Sponsorship Opportunities 2023
The 2023 Sidney LitFest will be a celebration of readers, writers and the written word. We will be hosting fifteen authors from across Canada and presenting their work in readings, panel discussions and writing workshops. The festival will provide a milieu where authors can talk about their books, ideas and writing, while giving readers an opportunity to engage with favourite authors and discover authors new to them. Everyone participating will be inspired to read or write more and be introduced to new and possibly challenging ideas. Writing workshops will give attendees the chance to learn about the writing process from published authors and gain new tools and techniques of the craft.
About Us
The Sidney and Peninsula Literary Society is a non-profit organization that produces the Sidney LitFest. Four successful festivals have been held, in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. During that time, we have seen the level of attendance and our society membership increase significantly. At the 2019 festival, 800 tickets were sold for 11 different events. While several attendees bought multiple tickets, we hosted the largest number of attendees in four festivals.
In order to fulfill a continued appetite for author events during the pandemic, in 2020, 2021 and 2022 we held Authors in the Park in the summer at Pioneer Park in Brentwood Bay and attracted between 30 and 50 attendees to each of six different events. Spring and fall reading series were also held in 2022.
Since we became a society in December 2014, the number of society members has grown steadily and is currently 270 members. Through our website we have also gained a contact list of over 250 people who have requested updates about the festival and our other events. We are noticing continued and increasing interest in the upcoming festival through our website and our social media platforms.

Sponsors who provide $500 or more may choose to direct their sponsorship to a specific event. They will then have the opportunity to make opening remarks at that event.
